Before you upload
8kwalls is a community platform. We welcome wallpaper submissions from anyone — but every upload goes through a review process before it goes live. Here’s what we look for and what to avoid.
What we accept
- Original work — wallpapers you created, photographed, or designed yourself.
- High resolution — minimum 1920×1080 for desktop, 1080×1920 for phone. 4K and above preferred.
- Clean files — JPEG or PNG. No watermarks, no visible compression artifacts, no borders or frames.
- Proper categories — pick the category that fits. If it’s a gradient, put it in Gradients. If it’s nature, put it in Nature.
What we don’t accept
- Content you don’t have rights to — don’t upload someone else’s work without permission.
- Low resolution or blurry images — if it doesn’t look sharp on a modern screen, it won’t pass review.
- Selfies, personal photos, or images of children — this is a wallpaper platform, not a photo album.
- Explicit, violent, or offensive content — use common sense.
- Duplicate uploads — if the wallpaper already exists on 8kwalls, don’t upload it again.
How the review works
After you submit, our team reviews your upload for quality and compliance. Most reviews are completed within 48 hours. If your wallpaper is approved, it goes live on the site with your name as the uploader. If it’s rejected, you won’t receive a notification — but you’re welcome to try again with a different upload.
Copyright and takedowns
By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to share the image on 8kwalls. If you believe a wallpaper on our site infringes on your copyright, please visit our DMCA page to submit a takedown request. We respond to all valid requests within 48 hours.
Tips for getting approved
- Upload the highest resolution version you have.
- Give your wallpaper a descriptive title — not “IMG_4032” or “untitled.”
- Add relevant tags so people can find it.
- If it’s abstract, make sure the composition is intentional. Random blurs don’t pass.
